Project Meilo

A unique take on space combat and exploration.

Being developed using Unity and programmed using C#.

Using Wwise for audio programming.

Creating a space exploration/combat simulator, taking inspiration from No Man's Sky, Elite: Dangerous, Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Squadrons.

Project Meilo is in active development as a side project to work on over the summer and whilst I'm teaching at University to keep my knowledge of programming up-to-date and to also challenge myself with new mechanics and systems I have not tackled before.

Some of the mechanics in development:

  • Full player-spaceship movement controls.

  • A suite of weaponry that the player can utilise to attack enemies.

  • Complex AI that can navigate environmental hazards such as asteroids and canyons all while attacking the player when they have a target lock.

  • Ground to space transitions.

  • Wave-based combat encounters.

  • Capital ship engagements.

  • Lite NPC interaction.

  • Utilising Audiokinetic Wwise to create:

    • Random containers for sound effects.​

    • State machines / RTPC's for combat and ambient audio.

    • Interactive audio based on who you're interacting with.
